Charlie Mackesy is a British artist and author. After beginning as a cartoonist for The Spectator and a book illustrator for Oxford University Press, he began exhibiting in galleries across the world. His work features also in many public spaces, including hospitals, prisons, women’s safe houses, churches, and university colleges. He has lived and painted in the UK, America, and Southern Africa. In 2006, he produced ‘The Unity Series’, a collaborative set of lithographs with Nelson Mandela.
